In early October we were in the Eastern Cape for site visits and meetings with our grower partners in that region. Waitrose Foundation CEO, Kobus Visagie, and Exporter Liaison and Manager North, Emily Hendricks, have been on the road and visited Panzi near Kirkwood.
The photos included here are of the cafeteria for workers at Panzi, funded by the Waitrose Foundation and Panzi, as well as of the Early Childhood Development centre. The veggie garden is coming along very nicely and just look at the crop! Beautiful fresh veggies from their garden are used in preparing nutritious food for the kids.
Panzi is a grower exporting produce to Waitrose UK via exporter Grown4U. Practical action is taken at Panzi that links to Sustainable Development Goal Number 2: Zero Hunger, Food Security, improved nutrition and the promotion of Sustainable Agriculture.
