Accolades for change in social conditions on Rapiprop farms

A significant change in the confidence and pride amongst 39 workers from 8 farms became obvious during the dialogue between worker committee members and representatives from the Waitrose Foundation and the Capespan Blue Hand Foundation.

The Foundation representatives became aware of the significant change on these farms when the members reported the following:

• Access to health services on farms results in less time away from work, healthier workers and less money spent on health care.
• Availability of clean drinking water is invaluable and much appreciated
• Safe environments for children give working parents the necessary peace of mind
• Access to fresh produce enables communities to live a healthy lifestyle
• Access to developed sport facilities offers alternatives to destructive social behaviour
