Auldearn’s Beehive Project made a profit of almost R7000 in its first year. Waitrose funding was used to buy beehives and then these hives were hired out to the farm at a reduced rate for the pollination period. This year the project also aims to sell the honey from the hives at the Elgin Open Gardens Festival which takes place in November.

It has always been the aim to use any profits from the Waitrose Projects to aid and assist members of the Community in achieving their full potential. It was with great pride and joy that the Beehive Project decided to sponsor fellow worker Thinus Corah.
