On 3 March the La Colline Girl’s band had the opportunity to lead the praise and worship for the World Women’s Day of Prayer in front of 800 female students at the Langeberg Secondary School. Just the idea of performing in front of their own class mates was scary at first but as they prepared for this event, they became more confident. It was definitely a highlight for them.

It’s the first ladies band to perform on stage at the school in all these years. They are quite famous nowadays because more students recognize them and acknowledge their abilities. During this whole process one could see a boost in their self-confidence and character. This group of girls motivated many children to start playing an instrument and the demand for musical instrument training increased at school.
We as community are so proud of them. The success of the project and the dedication of the musicians are the main reasons for their achievements and opportunities.

A huge thank you to Waitrose Foundation and Swiegers Brothers for the financial assistance that contributes to the success of this project.
