In March this year Ilze Botha (Lebone Crafts Facilitator at Westfalia Fruit Estate) had received a phone call from the UK. On the other side of the line was Adrie Pretorius who is the mother of the bride to be. She stumbled across the Project on Facebook and came up with an idea to have traditional African beadwork at her daughter’s wedding. The beadwork served as a feature at the wedding, but also had the purpose as a gift for each guest. An order was placed for 125 serviette rings, which was to be made in traditional patterns and in the colours of the wedding – yellow, blue and white. With this in mind, 5 women at Lebone Crafts set out to work in May. Each lady made about 25 serviette rings.

The wedding took place in August and was a great success!
