- Sewing Project – The sewing project has been registered as a cooperative and the project intends to operate as an income generating project. Over the past year the project has supplied farms including Bevaria with overalls, private clients with dresses for boutiques, swim wear for private business lodges as well as table clothes, overlays, chair covers. Uniforms and shirts for garages. Other orders for canvas products, housekeeping uniforms and alterations (as a general request), were received. Income generated was used for purchasing of material and salaries for five months, servicing of machines and for consumables. Two of the team members have a fixed term contract with the aim of gaining training experience to exit and start their own business, which will assist in the event of an overflow of orders. Part of the funding will be used to cover the website design to assist with marketing. The profits generated will be reinvested into the project to co-fund some of the running costs.
- Glasswork Project – The aim of this project is to recycle glass bottles, crush the glass and sell it back to Consol.
- Constantia Borehole Project – The project entails digging of a borehole in the village of Mamphakathi where 90% of both the seasonal and permanent employees of Westfalia mango farm (Constantia) reside. Since 1993 there has been a serious shortage of water in the village of Mamphakathi, to such an extent that the workers fetched water in 25 litre containers from the farm on a daily basis in order to cater for domestic needs. There is one borehole and two fully functional street taps in a community of more than 2000 households. The water shortage problem in this community has become a business opportunity for some people who sell water to those who are unable to fetch it from the street taps e.g. the aged, HIV/AIDS patients.
- Food Subsidy for Crèche – This project aims to pay for the food provided for the 70 children at the Gorutha Centre (crèche).
