Training and skills development at Triple D Farms is a priority; we believe that investing in our workforce is the key element to a successful and sustainable business. In May 2011 Triple D Farms offered the opportunity of a Top of the Class course to 25 of its employees. The aim of such an initiative was to build the knowledge, skills and confidence of these employees in the fresh fruit value chain.

A great thing about the course was that everyone was very committed to course; you could have seen the passion and hard work which was there. Everyone was going to bed at 24:00 and woke up at 5:00 just to finish the assignments. To see so much commitment from our workers was an inspiration. Many have asked for advice on how they can continue with the process on the farm to make sure the development that was started through the course is sustained.

On 29th July 2011 there will be the graduations and the announcement of the best student of the programme who accompanies the Fresh Produce Exporters’ Forum (FPEF) on an all-expenses paid-trip to Fruit Logistica, Germany.
