We had the opportunity to meet in person with Barney Smyth, Ethics and Sustainability Specialist (Waitrose Foundation, John Lewis Partnership) in the first week of February. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet with Barney outside of the usual online meetings context and also to treat him to a few trips out to visit farms in the region.
Although the visit to South Africa was not work related and time was limited, we managed to secure a brief meeting time with Barney at our head office in Stellenbosch shortly after his arrival in the country. We also went out to Grabouw to visit grower partners Dennegeur, Monteith and Remhoogte. Thank you, Barney, for spending time with us – a short, but very productive time together.
