December 2020
At the beginning of November 2020 a truly inspiring two-day workshop was held in Kakemas in the Northern Cape. Our Manager - Education & Training Support, Hilda Links, and Raymond Engelbrecht, our Mananger Farm Support, were part of the hosting team of a two day Women Empowerment Workshop in Kakemas. The project focused on empowering women and youth and the group who attended included project coordinators, partial care facilitators as well as local representatives of the Department of Social Services.
The representatives were intentionally included in this workshop so that they can form part of the support system in the Northern Cape in future. The theme of the workshop was Psychosocial Wellbeing - Strengthening the Resilience of key role players involved with support services on partner farms, especially amidst the current impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Service provider, Spieel Collective, facilitated this Arts for Psychosocial Support workshop, focusing on Building Community Resilience through trauma informed intervention in collaboration with The Waitrose Foundation.
