Waitrose Foundation At Work

“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn".

August 2018

The month of August also know as Women’s Month in South Africa, created an acute awareness for some of the core functions of women. Nurturing, caring, teaching, guiding and to move children from limited or a lack of knowledge to possessing relevant knowledge that empowers are some of the core function of women that were highlighted last month at Mouton Citrus. More than 200 of agri-worker’s children from Mouton Citrus received (and continue to receive) nutritious meals alongside assistance with homework creative life skills training and at the community school and aftercare Centre.

The children and facilitators are excited about the computers and support service they received from the Waitrose Foundation, aimed at improving the Mathematics and Literacy performance levels of primary and high school learners. All computers are in use within planned weekly sessions that include Grade R learners.

One of the educators quoted Benjamin Franklin to describe their experience. “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”

Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.
Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.
