The ABET project is delivered in partnership with United Exports Farms and Growers, with instruction provided by Triple E ABET specialists. The project aims to address the high rates of adult illiteracy in South Africa, where over 3.5 million adults remain illiterate, with rural black women most affected. It seeks to develop communication and numeracy skills among farm workers and community members. The project includes assessments and up to 240 hours of in-person instruction over two years, leading to a nationally accredited certificate.

This qualification empowers participants to access further education, improve workplace performance, and develop personal skills such as reading, managing finances, and helping children with homework. Beyond individual growth, the programme strengthens families, supports local communities, and contributes to building a more skilled agricultural workforce. For R2.72 million, 340 employees and community members will have the opportunity to become literate for the first time in their lives.
